From glimpses of the band on local London television in 1974, charging through stunning versions of "Rosalie" and "Its Only Money," through a 1976 Top of the Pops airing for "Don't Believe a Word," and on to a 1978 live version of "Bad Reputation," shot during the band's Australian tour, Inside Thin Lizzy is a collector's cornucopia of dramatic sound and vision, to which a gaggle of British rock critics add their own thoughts and observations to the band's growth and impact. As usual, not every word is one you might agree with, and confirmed Thin Lizzy fans would do well to keep a boxful of screwed-up pieces of paper on-hand, with which to bombard the screen during some of the more absurd pronouncements. But still there's a love and respect present throughout the 70-minute-program that is difficult to argue with.
